About Judge Novillo
Judge Edwin I. Novillo grew up in Jackson Heights and now sits on the Queens bench. His story shows what our community can achieve together.
He was born in Ecuador and raised in Queens by his immigrant parents. Throughout his career, he has worked hard to serve others. After graduating from John Jay College and Touro Law, he spent more than 14 years as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society. In 2018, he became the first person of Ecuadorian descent to be appointed to the bench by a New York City mayor. Today, he is the Supervising Judge of Queens County Criminal Court.
Judge Novillo is the Democratic nominee for Justice of the Supreme Court. He offers the experience, judgment, and fairness that every New Yorker deserves in the courtroom.
